   He is correct, there is no law compelling you to use Federal Reserve Notes as money, it is completely voluntary. People in the 30s knew this and only used US Bank Notes and had no “income” to declare. Now people are just too ignorant to understand remedy and law.

   What is amazing about this…Mr. Reid seems to believe what he is saying is making sense. Just try not paying your income taxes. Oh, yea…remember Tim Gather just had a “hiccup” when he didn’t pay his taxes. Now he is our Treasury Secretary.

   This seems like a semantics issue here. On one hand Reid is saying that other countries take your taxes immediately. Here we choose to give our taxes to the gov’t. The thing is, if we choose not to, we get arrested. He doesn’t seem to realise it amounts to the same thing. But I think he is talking about our gov’t giving us the option to pay or not before taking action. Other places they don’t let you not pay. Here you can not pay but then you get arrested.

   This is not just something Reid is making up. The Privacy Act which is included in the instructions of your 1040 booklet informs us our income tax system is voluntary. It also informs us that the information we give can even be given to foreign governments. In order to avoid violating the 5th Amendment, the government must claim we file our returns [give personal info that can be used against us] voluntarily. Therefore we voluntarily waive our 5th amendment rights.

    Harry Reid is the epitome of what has gone wrong in this country….Politicians speaking out of both sides of their mouths…It is just pathetic!! It is plan and simple involuntary taxes!! And if you don’t think your taxes are going up in 2010…you just wait until you get your paychecks!!

    Wearing clothes in public is voluntary too! Lets streak down main street saying “YAY for our voluntary tax system, you don’t have to pay taxes!!” — Mind you i really do not recommend doing this… But C’MON! I hope people realize how idiotic it is to think we have a voluntary tax system… Yeah it may be voluntary to apply for certain deductions, they’d never automatically make you save money, but you HAVE to pay or you WILL be “subject to penalties and fines” aka JAIL and COURT. TAX EVASION!

    Well, what Reid says is true in the sense that with food stamps and subsidized housing and other benefits it is not even necessary to work or own anything. That is the only way I know to avoid taxes. Then you can just play the lottery and give the government a little help by doing so.

    Word play.. you can agree with him, and you can say what you want, but if you don’t pay your taxes, you will go to prison.. soooo.. what does it matter? That is still forcing you to pay taxes. Harry Reid is full of it.. always has been, always will be.
